The GK-2A polepiece spacing is designed for .410" to .415" (10.5mm)
string spacing. This is a compromise between Fender an Gibson
traditional spacings.The polepieces of the old GK-1 and GK-2 are quite
narrow and allow minimum pickup alignment tolerance and string spacing
differences before the performance degrades significantly on the extreme
strings. The polepieces of the current GK-2A measure about 4mm wide so
this allows a range of approximately ±.008" per string before tracking
on the extreme strings starts to degrade.
The spacing between strings 1 and 6
should typically be 2.060" ±.035".
